Product Description

Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. Ultimately, Kevin learns the importance of family during the holidays in a touching reunion with his clan that is highlighted by the film's amazing original score, which was nominated for an Academy Award.

Home Alone (1990) Movie Review

Home Alone is a classic family movie that was released in 1990 and featured rising child star Macaulay Culkin who played the role of 8-year-old Kevin McCallister. It's nearing Christmas and the McCallister family are planning a trip abroad to France so that they can enjoy the festive season as a family for a change. It was a fantastic idea until the time to leave for France arrived and things started to go terribly wrong.

Kevin was sent to the third floor the evening before the flight for picking a fight with his brother, Buzz. He had good reason, but of course his parents took his big brothers side and this would later result in him missing the early morning flight to France. His parents, Peter and Kate, only realised exactly what they were missing during the long flight and it was too late. They left their son at home. He was home alone.

Kevin was surprised at first, calling for his family members one by one until he finally realised that he was alone... and the fun started! He did everything that you would expect an 8-year-old to do if they had no parental supervision, but it was never going to last. Harry and Marv, two robbers who were targeting Kevin's neighbourhood had his house down on their hit list and after few altercations and mixed signals they would hit the house, but they would come out empty handed, nothing but a busted ego and a long sentence in jail.

Kevin rigged this house with every trick and prank in the book. He took the robbers down and landed them in the back of a cop car, on their way to a jail house. The family would return and be happy that their son was okay, and vow never to let this happen again, but would they keep their word and remember him the next time?

Home Alone Movie Review

"Home Alone" is a hilarious comedy starring 10-year-old Macaulay Culkin as a boy who's family accidentally forget to bring him along for Christmas vacation. Macaulay does a superb job in the movie, which is thoroughly entertaining, especially the part in which he foils two burglars who attempt to rob his house.

Kevin McCalister (Culkin) is the youngest of several kids of a large family in Chicago. Kevin is frustrated because he older brother continuously picks on him and he gets a lot of grief from his parents and the rest of his siblings. After getting into a fight with his mother, Kevin tells her that he wishes he'd never see any of them again.

The next morning, Kevin gets his wish as his family accidentally leave him behind as they leave for Paris. After realizing that his family is missing, he thinks he'd made them all disappear. Although a bit disturbed at first, he soon becomes overjoyed, realizing he's now free to do whatever he wants.

Kevin proves to be very resourceful, shopping and cleaning for himself. However, he has to deal with some big fears of his, including the heater in the basement and a scary neighbor Marley (Heard), whom he believes to be a killer at first.

Kevin's biggest problem turns out to be two burglars (Pesci and Stern), who are attempting to rob every home in the neighborhood. They prove no match for Kevin, however, who does everything he can think of to protect the house, including making the doorknob red hot, dropping a hot iron on one of their heads, and dousing the other one with glue and feathers. In the end, once the burglars capture Kevin, Marley rescues him by knocking them both on the head with a shovel. Macaulay calls the police on the burglars from his tree house and they soon come to arrest the burglars.

Kevin begins to miss his family, but they soon return and he becomes happily reunited with them.
